Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise on high demand

New Delhi: Zinc prices on Tuesday rose marginally by 90 paise to Rs 324.90 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery edged up 90 paise, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 324.90 per kg with a business turnover of 137 lots.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Tuesday rose nearly 0.69 per cent to Rs 355.75 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of aluminium for delivery in May increased by Rs 2.45, or 0.69 per cent, to Rs 355.75 per kilogram in 71 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Copper futures gain on higher spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 3 to Rs 1,180 per kg on Tuesday due to higher spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery grew by Rs 3, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 1,180 per kilogram in a business turnover of 126 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
